Advent Day 17

Make a Gingerbread House

(There is no picture of their house because due to all their frosting and candy decorating, nothing could hold it together.  At least they enjoyed themselves making it.)

I'm cracking up because our gingerbread house was also a structural disaster this year... The roof slid down with the weight of all the frosting/candy, the walls promptly collapsed after that, and we gave the kids 10 minutes to eat why they wanted before hauling the sad remains to the trash! :0)

you have to assemble those first and let the frosting completely dry before decorating. av hair dryer can speed up this process. so can hot glue. you are mother of the year to do a gingerbread house with a two day old baby. I have no baby and can't even think about a gingerbread house without breaking a sweet. ;) that's why I delegated this project to my mother. we are doing them on Christmas day. ;) take a nap!

Help 100 kids make these darling houses last weekend. Beautiful pieces of art. Looks like they had a great time. How much did they eat?
