Volleyball
Today kicked off Elyse's volleyball season. Her team and she have been practicing for a month, but she had her first game tonight. For a sport I loved playing, it was so special watching her out there. She did such a great job, said she had a blast, and she looked so grown up too. Very proud of her!

Constance Free Church's Annual Family Palooza
Today was our church's annual "Family Palooza". The kids all still really enjoy this event. It's a huge free day full of inflatables, food, bike races, pumpkin launchers, crazy hair, archery, car show, and a petting zoo. Minus the strong rainstorm that came in right during the middle of the day (unpredicted) the weather temps were gorgeous and kids stayed busy running around with their friends (the reason for the lack of photos).

Elyse Turns 11 Years Old
Today Elyse turned 11 and I am kind of in denial she is that old. She is growing up way too fast and reminding us of that daily. We still love her to pieces even when the days get challenging. Currently, we would describe Elyse as being a strong-willed, boisterous, leader, with such a servant heart. She continues to love anything to do with singing, dancing, being around friends or family, drama, volleyball, basketball, fake nails, and God.
We celebrated her today with a family day of hanging out, opening family gifts, eating cake, and ending the night with pizza and her current favorite movie, Descendents 3.

Happy 11th Birthday, Elyse!

Legacy's Mane Event
Today the kiddos participated in their school's annual "Mane Event". It's a fundraiser to raise money for the school where the kids, staff, and parents can run a 1/3 mile or 1.5-mile obstacle course. The kids ran the same obstacles as last year, Ian ran the Cub run (1/3) and did great, even got on the ground this year. Elyse, Caleb, Kallen, and dad participated in the 1.5 miles. Their course involved lots of running, tire obstacles, lily pads over a freezing pool, rope course, ninja stagier steps, a giant wall, mud pit, and car wash. After they all successfully crossed the finish line, they quickly dried off and changed, because it was freezing; and then played on the playground, ate Pizza Ranch pizza and hung out with friends. The entire morning was chilly, but still the same fun event for our entire family.

Legacy Families Camping Trip
We have never had big plans over Labor Day weekend, until this year. This past weekend gave us another reason why we are so thankful to be apart of the Legacy family! We were asked to join thirteen families last spring to go camping (or in our case, glamping) together for a time of non-stop memorable fun. Just under sixty people completed our group and it's so awesome to be friends with our kids' friends/classmates and their families. It really is a unique situation that I have never thought I would experience and beyond grateful. Another Legacy family was going out of town and let us borrow their camper to make our experience so much more enjoyable. The weekend was full of laughter, bonfires, great food, going to the beach, fishing, storytelling, games, and an interactive church service with amazing worship. My heart was so full when we left. To top it all off, we have decided to make it an annual thing, so looking forward to next year Labor's Day weekend!
