Goodbye Curls

I think it's bittersweet for any mom when it is time to cut the baby curls.  Nate has been asking me for weeks and I finally gave in last night.  His curls were getting out of control and looking more like little horns by his ears.  He did great, the haircut turned out really well and he looks so handsome.

Too Nice Outside

Apologizes to family members that are hoping to see lots of pictures of the kids.  The weather was so perfect this weekend that we spent all our time outside either playing, attending garage sales or working on the yard.  Below is the only picture I captured, a common activity that I don't think Nate and the kids ever get tired of doing.

Car Ride

It is not uncommon to see Kallen climb onto the kids' Lightning McQueen car and scream until Caleb notices him.  Once Caleb comes, Kallen holds on tight and the boys go round and round the house for what feels like hours :)

An Amazing Birthday Gift

So I received many awesome gifts for my birthday.  However, my brother, Steven and his wife, Kim gave me one amazing gift today, a nephew!  He is perfect and I already love him to pieces.

Celebrated Turning 30

So tomorrow I will officially become 30.  Turning 30 does not scare me as I often feel like I have been 30 for quite sometime now, especially since Nate is 33 :) 

Anyway, on Saturday, I was so overwhelmed with kindness and love when Nate and my mom threw me an early 30th birthday party.   The party was nothing but fun!  About 40 adults and 25 kids packed the house for some great fellowship and food.  

I want to thank everyone that came as it was the perfect way to celebrate turning 30!

Biggest card my kids have and will ever make for me :)  As a gift, Nate bought blinds for the kids' rooms.  Therefore, he used an old one for the kids to paint me a beautiful card.

April 19th?

So I will admit, the view from our backyard was beautiful this morning.

However, I strongly believe I should not see snow plows and a white yard on April 19th!

Elyse's Spring Production

On Monday night, Elyse had her preschool's spring production.  She did an amazing job and appears to have so much fun on stage.  There were 65 kids singing for about 15 minutes.  Following the production was an ice cream sandwich social.  I think Elyse summed up the night best when we were in the car, "That was one fabulous night!"

8 Years

Today marks Nate and my eight year wedding anniversary.   God's journey for us has not always gone the way we would have planned; but I would not have had it any other way. That's because I believe that's the reason our marriage is as strong and everlasting as it is today. I feel so blessed to have Nate as my husband, father to our three beautiful children, provider, spiritual leader and best friend.

Nate, I love you so much and everyday grow to love you more and more. Thank you for all you do for the kids and I. I look forward to celebrating many more blessed years with you. Happy Anniversary, love!!!

CraAZy Hair Night

Tonight at Awana was crazy hair night.  Elyse's wasn't really crazy at all but that's what happens when mom forgets until the last three minutes before leaving and Elyse wants to wear every new hair band she has.  Side note, each pony was sticking straight up, but she was leaning against the wall for the picture.  Hope to do much better next year :)

$10 Well Spent

The summer before Elyse turned one, we can across this slide for $10 on Craig's List.  Without a doubt it is one of the best things we have bought for our kids.

Kallen often grabs my apple during lunch and decides that he would rather have the entire apple over a slice. Silly boy!

Celebrating Easter

Our Easter weekend was simple but busy! 

Saturday: we enjoyed the beautiful weather and decorated Easter eggs.

 

Sunday: after a morning full of serving in different areas at church, we came home to do our Easter traditions.  We read the Easter story with Resurrection eggs, had an Easter egg hunt and opened Easter baskets.
