Caleb Plays Dress Up

99% of the time when Elyse dresses up as a princess or fairy, Caleb dressing up as Woody from Toy Story.

However, 1% of the time, I catch him dressing up like this on his own.  Love him and his confidence!  (He will HATE me for posting this when he's older.)

Content

The kiddos just finished breakfast (Kallen not unbuckled from his chair yet) and I had to run Caleb to the bathroom.  After I got him all washed up, I came out to find this, two of my loves contently looking out the window at nothing talking to one another.  LOVE!

Speckman Family Visit

Starting last Wednesday, my brother and his family came to visit us for a few days.  It was so great to see them.  Even though there were the occasional rain showers, it still was sunny everyday so we could play outside.  My favorite part of their stay was being able to see our niece again and meet our adorable little nephew.  Overall, the time went way too fast and I miss them all already.

By far my favorite picture, so many fun captions I could come up with!

Special thank you to Steven, Kim, Chloe and Silas for making the drive to come see us.  Love you lots and hope it isn't another year till we see you again.

Water Slide at Home

On Sunday it was 85 and sunny, so of course the kiddos wanted to play in the sprinkler.  Well after a few minutes of that, Nate decided to bring out the pool.  The water was ice cold but that did not stop Elyse and Caleb from some water fun.  Nate hooked the hose up to the slide and down they went into the water.  They LOVED it.  Unfortunately the video was taken at the end when the kids had enough, were shaking because they were so cold, and a rain storm came in to dramatically drop temps too.  I have a feeling this activity will be occurring again this summer and I will try to catch all three sliding.

Happy Father's Day

Letter directly from Elyse:

Dad,

I am a little princess, I love you so much and I want to hug you.  Caleb and Kallen love you too as much as Lightning McQueen and Mama.  Thank you for all you do for us. You are the best Dad in the world!  Have a Happy Father's Day.

Love,
Elyse, Caleb and Kallen

I would like to wish all dads, especially Nate, my dad and father-in-law a
Happy Father's Day!
May your day be memorable, enjoyable and great.

"I Love Him"

Conversation I had with Elyse a few days ago...

E: "Mom, I love Tanner." (Tanner is our neighbor that is Elyse's age.)
M: "You don't love Tanner, you like him."
E: "No, I love him."
M: "Do you know what love feels like?"
E: "No, what does it feel like?"
M: "Butterflies, or like riding that ride with dad a few days ago at MOA where you dropped straight down and your stomach went funny."
E: "Yes, I have that with Tanner so see I love him."
M: "Ok, if you love him you need to get Dad's permission."
E: "Why?"
M: "Because when you love someone or begin dating someone you need to make sure dad approves and says he is a good guy for dating his daughter."
E: "Ok then, I like Tanner."  :)

So I find this conversation to be really funny, but scary too.  The reason is because Elyse is wanting to know about dating and love already, she is FOUR!!!

Thankful Thursday

Some things I am thankful for today are,
  • three beautiful children that always keep me on my toes
  • blue skies with soft, white clouds and a bright yellow sun
  • our wonderful neighbor kids that keep my children entertained
  • living in a cul-de-sac where my kids can ride and run for hours, and I feel at ease
  • the many blessings (family, friends, health, home) God has given me
So what are you thankful for today?

Oops! One Week Already

So I just realized it has been an entire week since I have posted a blog.  I would like to say it's because we have been so busy, but it's actually quite the opposite.  Last week was cool, rainy and/or cloudy, therefore, we never really left the house.  Plus Nate was traveling for work for a few days so that also limited my free time.  I apologize and hope to get back to 2-3 post a week starting now.

A few random pictures of the kids from this morning.

village127's Summer Social & Inflatable Fun

On Saturday our church's adoption ministry, village127 put on our 2nd annual summer social.  An event consisting of socializing, inflatables, food, activities and a time to be surrounded with people that have a heart for adoption, orphan and/or foster care.  Overall, it was nothing more than a success and I can't wait till next June already.

Below is a video of the kiddos (all four :o) ) on the inflatables as well as a few pictures from the day.  As you can see, 100% smiles!
