Thankgiving Break

This year the kiddos had an extra long Thanksgiving break which was really nice for us all.  We decided to head down to Iowa.  Thankfully, we made it both down and back with safe travels as the weather was not on our side.  It, unfortunately, was cooler, cloudy, and rainy most of our time in Keokuk too, but that did not stop us from having a great time.  The kids played a lot, we went and saw "Frozen 2", visited with dad's extended family, ate great food, and went to Burlington to play in the arcade, as well as gave me an opportunity to spend some time hanging out with one of my favorite people, Joni.

As always, special thanks to Grandpa and Grandma for everything!  Love you both.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Even though I know we should always be thankful, there is something about this day that puts how much I am thankful for into perspective.  So blessed, grateful, and full of thankfulness today.

Happy Thanksgiving

"Feed My Starving Children"

This past Saturday our chiropractor had their annual "Feed My Starving Children" event.  This year was the first time we could participate because the minimum age is five.  The kids did such a great job and had such happy hearts filling boxes for kids in need.  They packed enough boxes to help feed sixty-eight kids for one year.  It was also eye-opening for them to see what other kids get to eat every day and not complain but be excited about the food.  They actually asked to do it again as a family which brought us so much joy.

"Danny and the Shacks"

Last night Legacy's 5th and 6th graders put on their annual fall musical.  This year was titled, "Danny and the Shacks" based on the bible story of Daniel and the lions.  The kids all did a great job, but my favorite part by far was watching Elyse!  She had a lead role and was the star of the show.  She had over twenty-five lines and at least seven solos.  The girl was created to be on a stage for sure!  So excited to see her continue to thrive in theatre.  So proud of you sweetie.

Ian is "Student of the Month"

At the last Wednesday chapel of each month, the teachers pick a child in their class that represented the "Student of Great Character" for that month.  This month's word was, "HONOR" and Ian was chosen for his class.  His teacher spoke about how he continuously complimented and encouraged other classmates, as well as respected everyone at Legacy.  We were so proud of him today!

For King and Country Concert

Last night we celebrated the court's ruling on the decision to adopt Madeline but attending a "For King and Country" concert.  The kids sang along to every song and had a great time.  It was their first official concert and it did not disappoint!

Adoption Carnival

Today we attended MNAPOPTt's annual "Circle of the Heart" carnival in which they celebrate families who have a heart for adoption and/or foster care.  Like years in the past, it was a completely free event that involved great food, crafts, henna, and airbrushed tattoos.   The difference this year is that it took place at the Minnesota Zoo, so we not only got to celebrate the kiddos but got to go explore the zoo and create some fun memories.

Elyse's Basketball Season

Today kicked off another season of basketball for Elyse and some of her classmates through our local city league.  We had many of the same girls as last year, but traded a few new classmates and added two other girls, not from LCA.  It was so fun to see them back on the court and playing their hearts out.
