Copycat

After watching Nate and I make Indian chats with our mouths, Elyse started to make some noise. So we put our hands on her mouth and she does the rest.

Our Little Musician

One thing Elyse loves is music! Whether it's cooing (her singing) with the radio, kicking and swinging her arms during church worship or preferring to play with toys that play annoying music (chicken dance). Therefore, for the past couple of nights Nate has been playing his guitar to Elyse. She'll sit there for about thirty minutes watching Nate play or trying to play with him. As for me, I can't get enough of it; it's way too cute how she smiles and stares at him.

Below are just some random pictures Nate took of Elyse this past weekend. She takes 2 1/2 solid naps now and so we have a happy girl all day long. (Don't get me wrong, she was a happy girl before, but now she's happy for 2 solid hours, not 30 minutes at a time). It's really nice and therefore Nate took advantage of his time with Elyse and captured some really neat shots. Elyse's view of money and the how the economy is right now. Elyse, our big girl, now loves to drink water from our glasses.

Elyse just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day.

5 Months Old

Elyse turned 5 months old today! I know I say this every month, but I really can't get over how fast time flies when children are in the picture. Nate and I love her more and more each day and we're so thankful for the past 5 months and for the months to come.
Nothing else new, just wanted to say, "Happy 5 month Birthday Elyse!"

Playdate Day

Last Thursday, Elyse and I went to our first play date. It was a great time of socializing, laughing, eating and watching our little ones try to interact with one another. I look forward to doing it again REAL soon!

Miss. Independent

As I have previously mentioned, Elyse is also known as, Miss. Independent. She likes to do things all by herself. Well as you've seen before, she LOVES cereal and eating in her high chair. Last night while Nate was feeding her like he normally does, Elyse decided she wanted to try to feed herself instead. Overall, I think she did a great job. She's growing up way too FAST!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bowman

One of my best friends, Joni recently got married to Joe Bowman in Key West, Florida. I'm so happy for her, but sad I wasn't able to be there to celebrate with her. However, this past Saturday they had their wedding reception in Burlington, Iowa and I wouldn't have missed it for anything. Joni looked beautiful and it was great to finally meet Joe. They also had amazing cake and homemade ice cream :) Nate and I were able to see friends from college and show off Elyse. Overall it was a wonderful Saturday!
