Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what one is thankful for. Every year Nate and I have so much to be thankful for, but this year has to top them all. That's because we are thanking God for His blessing of our beautiful, little girl. May God bless you during this holiday. Therefore, we just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Loves Her Daddy

So Elyse loves when Nate comes home. She loves to play with him. It's not only fun for her, but for me. I love seeing them together. Right now she tends to be a mommy's girl, but I know it won't last too much longer!

Future Mrs. Kuphal

So Jenny and I can't get enough of trying to set Elyse up with Aiden. We swear they will eventually be married. In fact, Aiden can't stop looking at her and has even attempted a few kisses. After seeing this Nate had to give Aiden "The Talk".

Congrats Jimmy and Becki

Congratulations to our friends, Jimmy and Becki on the arrival of their baby girl, Jada Rae. Jada was born on Wednesday, November 12th at 10:16 p.m. at 6.9 lbs and 19 inches long. Not to mention that Elyse is excited to have another friend!

Baby Shower in Iowa

This past weekend, Nate, Elyse and I traveled to Huxley (right next to Ames) in Iowa. Great friends of mine, Kelly and Kiley from college threw us a baby shower. We had so many friends from college and now their beautiful children come share in our blessing of Elyse. We kept saying on the ride home how much we missed, appreciated and loved them. For those of you that stopped by, thank you so much. For Brandon and Kelly Fischer, thank you for hosting it, it was beautiful.

Who Knew a Box?

So many times you'll hear parents say, "We should have just bought him/her a box for a gift instead." Well that has been evident to Nate and I the past few nights. We have discovered Elyse loves to kick things, especially her box that holds her bath stuff before getting into the tub. She will sit there for up to 5 minutes just kicking it and focusing on it. Well I guess a special thanks goes out to John and Cindy for buying Elyse her new favorite toy :)

Proud Mom

So this past Sunday, Elyse not only turned 2 months but was moved from her bassinet to her crib in her own room. It was hard at first, but the end result has been worth it. That's because for the past few nights Elyse has been sleeping from 9:30 p.m. (11:00 feeding) until 8:30 a.m. Sometimes she has woken up because of a cough or coming unswaddled. However, she goes right back to sleep. Therefore, last night I got 8 hours of sleep...YEAH, so proud of my baby girl!!!(Side note: The picture is not of her actually sleeping because the blanket wouldn't be like that)

Welcome Home Mariana

Our friends, Seth and Kelly just welcomed home their baby girl, Mariana Joy last week. Mariana was born on September 2, 2008 (6 days before Elyse). She weighed 1 lb, 14 oz. Mariana is just about 6 lbs now and is doing great! We are so happy for them and Elyse is excited to have another friend.

2 Months Old

I can't believe it, Elyse is 2 months today. Time goes by so fast. I can totally understand now why people say, "Treasure every moment, because they grow up so fast." Well Elyse had her 2 month doctors appointment yesterday and did great. She had one vaccination shot and her powerful baby scream just breaks a parent's heart. She also came in at 12 lbs, 12 oz (90th percentile) and 23 inches long (94th percentile). She passed all her developmental tests with flying colors. Overall you can say she is growing very successfully and beautifully. I maybe a little bias on beautifully but I'd have to agree with the doctor for sure on that one.

I love when Elyse sneezes, I think it's so cute. Well I just happened to get it on video. The odds of catching it on tape again is slim to none.

So last night Elyse was smiling like crazy, but everytime I got the camera she stopped to look at it instead. Therefore I got a few cute shots. I guess Nate and I are going to have to team up next time in order to get better pictues.
