Halloween 09

I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! Nate, Elyse and I had a fabulous and fun Halloween this year. We started by having my mom, niece and nephew over to play and eat lunch.
Then we ended the day with having all our friends over for a night of fun. After many attempts at getting a solid good picture, I was able to capture a few.

Wouldn't you pay money to go to a zoo that had this many cute animals?

Beautiful Sight

I believe one of the most beautiful sights you can see as a parent is walking in on your child doing nothing but happily reading a book :) Picture was not staged, Elyse pulled her books by her horse to read

Sharing

Nate and I have spent the last week working on sharing with Elyse. As you can see from the video, she's gotten pretty good at it. She's beginning to share toys, books and food with her friends and us. Ironically I have discovered her sharing of food tends to be food she doesn't like. She sure is one smart and tricky little girl!

Elyse 1 Year Old Pictures

A friend of Nate and I through church took these 1 year old pictures of Elyse. I just LOVE them all and think she did an amazing job. If you need pictures done I'd recommend her in a heartbeat, "Heidi McDowell Photography"! These are just a few. If you would like to see more, please feel free to copy and paste the link below:

H1N1

So I'm so confused with this entire H1N1 epidemic the news is always talking about. I don't know what to do? Should I or shouldn't I give Elyse the vaccine???? I'm so confident in one thing and then tend to change my mind all over again. So I know your opinion isn't going to make my decision, but I'm just curious what everyone thinks about it. Therefore, feel free to comment any thoughts you may have about the H1N1 vaccine. Please also feel free to vote on the left side whether or not you would give your child the vaccine.

All I know is that I can't be afraid of it or hide all winter, both Elyse and I would go CRazY!

Got the Right Idea

Elyse LOVES to take out my dirty underwear from the laundry basket, carry it around and then put it back in the basket. Well today she thought she would put it back somewhere else instead. I guess she figures she sees Mama wearing these on her legs when she goes pee-pee so I bet they go in there too :)
The one time I don't put the lid down, serves me right.

Busy

I can't believe it's already been over a week since my last post. Elyse and I were busy all last week and then on Thursday, Nate's parents came in for the weekend. We had a great time going to the Science Museum (Titanic Exhibit), Guthrie, Mills City Museum, playing cards and hanging out. Hope this week, I will get more posting done.

Random

The following video is oh so random. Nate and I just captured Elyse putting her magnets away and helping to clean up. It's mostly a video for grandparents, uncles and aunts to see Elyse.

No child was harmed in the making of this film!

Playing In Leaves

Okay, so playing in leaves is what Elyse and I should be doing in the middle of October, but no, not today. We instead woke up to the picture below, may look beautiful, but it's beauty should only come in December! Although instead of complaining about it, I decided to bundle Elyse and myself up and head outdoors. I'm so glad I did, she LOVED it. Her boots were a little big, so she feel a lot, but once she feel she got to eat the snow off her gloves and tended to enjoy that. I know we will be going out to play in the snow more this winter but for now, fall please come back!

Anticipation or Is It Fear?

Elyse LOVES to play chase and Nate has to be one of her favorite people that chases her. However, whenever he does chase her her eyes get really big and her face looks so afraid. I was able to capture some of this on video early this morning. Although I think my face would look just as frightened if Nate was chasing me ;)

Happy and You Know It

I have mentioned it many times that Elyse loves to dance and sing. Well Nate captured her and I, and besides the horrible singing that comes from me, I think it's very cute. Plus it just shows how quickly she is learning to do things. She now does actions to "Happy and Know It", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Patty-cake", "Wheels on the Bus", and "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". I hope to capture more soon for family members and interested friends.

Princess's Domain

For the past two weekends Nate and I have been working on Elyse's new bedroom. The nursery as seen in other posts is general neutral since we don't have control with adoption. Therefore, I finally got to decorate a little girls room and loved doing it. Elyse LOVES her new room and big bed. We won't move her into it until she's about 18 months but we do want her to get used to it. The only addition is a valance and moving her name out of the nursery, painting it brown and hanging it above the window. So what do you think, perfect for a princess? I sure think so.

Fun in the Closet

As I walked into Nate and my room today I overheard my two loves having a wonderful conversation in the closet with no lights on. After the first 50 seconds of talk I turn the lights on and the conversation still continues. Elyse is for sure one adorable little chatter box!
