Advent Season 2014

Advent season is here!  We successfully decorated the tree this weekend and are now ready to start our fun Christmas activities to countdown to the day of our Lord in Savior's birth; and I couldn't be more excited!

Adorable Pirates

Pirates are suppose to be tough, scary and mean; but I believe these two pirates are spunky, cute and kind.

Playing pretend is a constant activity recently.  I love the boys' imagination and creativity.  For instance, they recently lost their swords from being too aggressive and now use their kitchen utensils.

Happy Thanksgiving

I know Thanksgiving has great meaning, but I sometimes feel like it is kind of a joke.  The day tends to be focused on either football, shopping and/or food, instead of its purpose.  Plus I believe we should give thanks daily for our blessings not just once a year.  But to go with a Thanksgiving tradition, the things I am most thankful for...
  • Jesus Christ who loves me and sacrificed His life for my sins
  • A patient, leading and handsome husband that I don't ever want to be apart from
  • Four precious children that I love unconditionally
  • A supportive family that's there whenever needed
  • Friends that I consider family
Wishing you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Ready, Set, Go!

As shown in the past, the kids LOVE racing their cars around the house.  Well Ian has reached the age where he doesn't ever want to be left behind.  So he joyfully climbs to his car, with assistance gets on and goes.

My Little Big Helper

Kallen maybe still considered little, but he sure is one BIG helper.  Whenever Nate or I are doing any indoor or outdoor task, you can guarantee he is there helping right along.  I love his help and that special time we get to work together to complete a task.  Well Mondays are the best at giving us time alone to do something because Elyse and Caleb are at school, and Ian is still napping in the mornings.  I just hope his passion to help is not a fad.

Ian Turns 11 Months Old

Eleven months today, how is this possible?!?  I am overwhelmed with emotions because today begins his last month of infancy.  I do look forward to what he will do this month since last month alone he began pulling himself up and getting into everything, communicating non-verbally, and finally got his bottom two teeth in.

Happy 11 Month Birthday, Ian!
You are such an adorable, sweet, happy, busy and outgoing little boy that we love so much. We hope you have a day as special as you are.

Winter Has Arrived

Today we officially began another winter season (up to 12 inches of snow) and sadly I feel like we just ended it.  For some reason the first snowfall always makes me want to cozy up with a blanket and admire it like my children do; but at the same time it makes me want to vomit.  Anyway, the kids love it and now are ready to put up Christmas decorations.

Princess Dance

Our city put on a "Princess Daughter Party" tonight and Elyse was escorted to the party with the best date any little girl could ask for.  Nate filled the roll of Prince Charming and took his little Elsa to the event.  The party involved decorating hair, painting nails, crafts, dancing, eating ice cream, playing games and meeting Elsa, Cinderella as well as Belle.  From the smile on her face when she got home I know it was a night she will never forget, and guarantee it's going to become an annual date for the two.

Not What I Expected

Kallen is our orneriest kid by far.  He is constantly testing boundaries and doing such humorous things.  Therefore whenever he is not present and I don't hear him, I am very nervous as to what he is up to.  Well on Saturday we were all in the toy room except Kallen.  So I got up to see what he was up to and to my surprise he grabbed a blanket, book and was quietly reading his baby to sleep.  So precious.  I stood there for a short while before getting the camera just watching my busy boy being so calm, gentle and loving.
