Last night, Legacy had their annual mother-son night. The boys look forward to this night, as much as the girls' do with their daddy-daughter. We had a great time and the night flew by. We went out to eat to once again, McDonald's (boys obviously chose); while at the event, we played games, made crafts, ate delicious desserts and even danced quite a bit. It was such a great night for us all.
Thank you, boys, for making me feel so loved. I am so blessed and love you so much.

"I Love to Read" Month
"I love to read" month always takes place in February at Legacy. In the past, the kiddos had to read a book, and then make a game, cereal box or trifold at home. The students then bring them all to share at school, it tends to be a lot of work for the parents (me). This year, the staff changed it up a little and made the projects all at school. It was fabulous! I had to do nothing but walk around each classroom and see their great projects. I loved their excitement and how proud they were of themselves of what they made. They really did an awesome job.
As for Elyse, she is older and hers involved reading a book about a "Hero of Faith" and then having a wax museum presentation. It was a lot of fun watching her become Corrie ten Boom.
Now that the month and competition are done, I just hope they strive to read as much as they have for the last 29 days!

Kallen is "Student of the Month"
The last chapel of each month the teachers pick a child in their class that represented the "Student of Great Character" for that month. This month's word was, "LOVE" and Kallen was chosen for his class. His teacher spoke about how he continuously shows love to other classmates. We were so proud of him today!

Star of the Week
This week is a big week for Ian because he is the "Star of the Week" and boy was he excited! We worked together to make his poster look and say all he wanted on it. He then was able to share it with his class and answer questions they asked. The classmates also went around and shared blessings for him. Throughout the week he gets special fun privileges like wearing the "Star Hat", sharing his favorite books, getting little prizes and other goodies.

Daddy-Daughter Ball
Last night was Legacy's annual "Daddy-Daughter Ball". Elyse looks forward to this night for weeks. All the girls from preschool to eighth grade love this night. It's where dads and daughters get dressed up, go out to eat, then back to Legacy for a night of dancing. The entire event is designed to make the girls feel loved and treated like the princesses they are. This night was even more special for Elyse because she got to share it with Madeline. Plus extra special for Madeline too as she got to attend her first of many dances. Dad had two gorgeous ladies to love on. I can't get over how handsome and beautiful they all looked!

Happy Valentine's Day
Today was Valentine's Day and the entire day was filled with lots of red, pink, hugs, gifts and love. The kids quickly put on their red clothes, grabbed their DIY Valentine box and headed off to school. The three older kids' classes had a small Valentine's party that involved just trading Valentine's. Ian's class, on the other hand, had a large party that consisted of exchanging Valentines, decorating cookies, making crafts and playing BINGO. I was so thankful to be able to chaperone the fun event. I ended the night with just the boys as dad and the girls were off to Legacy's annual Daddy-Daughter Ball. Love my big and little Valentine's!
So grateful the older three were willing to use the same Valentine boxes as last year.

Sparkle Bear
These past few days Madeline has had the privilege of babysitting her class' special friend, Sparkle Bear. Madeline took very good care of him. She brought him shopping to get Valentine's, took him to village127's "First Fridays," went out to eat at McDonald's, attended lots of basketball games, slept with him, played with him, and even got him adjusted by Dr. Tony. She was sad to say, "Goodbye" and hopefully we will get to watch him again by the end of the year.
