Kallen Turns 9 Years Old

Today Kallen turned 9!  He really is our smack in the middle child and everyone chooses Kallen whenever they want a partner.  That's because he is so easy to love.  His heart is so kind and loving to all.  He has a passion to help others and do what is right.  He is still one smart, funny, and hardworking boy with an engineering mind.

Kallen continues to love anything to do with Legos, dinosaurs, playing with friends, Star Wars, board games, video games, and basketball.

Happy 9th Birthday, Kallen!
We love you so much and are all thankful for you.

Today we also celebrated Kallen with a small family party.  Due to spring break and Covid, we were not able to throw a friend party.  Kallen chose to have an Ewok party theme.  We opened presents, ate birthday cake, and had his dinner choice of rotisserie chicken with sweet potato fries.

Elyse's Basketball Season

Elyse just finished her 2021 basketball season and she improved her game so much this year.  It was so fun watching her be aggressive, score, and enjoy the game.  She even had a weekend tournament and they got second since they were playing the hardest team in the traveling division.

Boys' Basketball

Today the boys' all had their final games for the 2021 basketball season.  Ian's team played their first and only real game, and he did awesome!  They won their game and Ian scored a basket.  Kallen's team lost but played their heart out and did great.  They were playing the hardest team in the league.  Lastly, Caleb's team ended up losing the first game and won the rest making them the fourth-grade champions.  We were so proud of him.  Such a fun day for them all.

Student of Good Character

For the month of February at Legacy the "Student of Good Character" was kindness. KallEn was chosen in his class. This does not surprise me as he is one of the kindest boys I know. Probably the kindest in our family to everyone. So proud of him!

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day, and even though we don't do anything big at home for it, the kids still hand out (non-food) treats for classmates and make Valentine boxes.  All the kids came up with their own ideas this year and yes both Dad and I made their visions become realities.  Kallen's was by far the most elaborate, with screwed on legs, and treats that went into the mouth through the head and stayed in the stomach.  Might just make him use that box again next year :)

Caleb: Baby Yoda
Kallen: Wolf
Ian: Fox
Maddie: Rainbow

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Once again things are not like they are normally are thanks to Covid-19, Legacy had to cancel their annual Daddy-Daughter Dance.  Dad, Elyse, and Maddie were super sad about this news!  Unfortunately for Maddie, she had to miss out, but one of Elyse's good friends, Rilee decided to throw a small one at her house with a few close friends/basketball teammates.  Elyse was thrilled!  Dad and she got dressed up, went over to the Enns' to have appetizers, snacks, desserts, and danced their night away.  I'm glad she was able to celebrate this still tonight, but really do pray that next year will be back at Legacy with both girls and Dad.

Mom's Trip to Florida

Today I arrived back home from a week away with some friends.  We left last Sunday for Anna Maria Island, FL, and arrived back this afternoon.  I have never been away from the kids that long and honestly knew Dad could do it all and wasn't worried.  I cried harder when I got home because I missed everyone so much.  The trip overall was so fun and beautiful!  We spent the majority of our time talking.  Besides that, it involved laying out, shopping, eating, being in our house's hot tub, and walking the oceanfront.  We even got to see lots of dolphins which was a highlight of my trip.  I'm so thankful for these girls and my family that love and support me so much.  A week I will never forget!
