Go Cyclones

Thanks to being stuck at home for weeks due to the coronavirus, we have been coming up with new and exciting things to do every day. Today's was thanks to Nana having to go back to Nebraska constantly to visit her mom; I convinced her not to buy us any more Nebraska gear but stop on the way to get some new Cyclone gear.  I know it was painful for her but she selfishly bought these super cute shirts for the kids and today they are having a matching new shirt kind of day. Go Cyclones!

Kallen Turns 8 Years Old

Today Kallen turned 8!  Even last night dad and I were talking about how unreal that seems. He still daily shows us how he is one smart, funny, hardworking, mathematical boy who thankfully still loves to cuddle.

Kallen loves anything to do with Legos, dinosaurs, playing with friends, Star Wars, board games, video games, and basketball.

Happy 8th Birthday, Kallen!
We love you so much and we hope you enjoyed your day.

Unfortunately due to the coronavirus, Kallen's birthday celebration with friends was nonexistent.  We spent the day quarantined at home as a family (fun for me, not for a boy who wants to be with friends too).  We watched him open his gifts, we ate cake, and then let him do whatever he found enjoyable on his day.

Elementary Spring Program

Tonight the boys joined the rest of the elementary students in their annual spring program.  The theme this year was, "Trusting in God".  They all did such a great job and we just love watching them joyfully praise God.

Minnesota Gopher Women's Basketball

Today we ended Elyse's Legacy's basketball season with a lunch gathering at their coach's house, and then the players and their families all attended an MN Gopher's Women's basketball game.  It was a lot of fun for all of us, especially because our entire family went this year.

Mother's Knight

Last night, Legacy had their annual mother-son night. The boys look forward to this night, as much as the girls' do with their daddy-daughter.  We had a great time and the night flew by.  We went out to eat to once again, McDonald's (boys obviously chose); while at the event, we played games, made crafts, ate delicious desserts and even danced quite a bit.  It was such a great night for us all.

Thank you, boys, for making me feel so loved.  I am so blessed and love you so much.

"I Love to Read" Month

"I love to read" month always takes place in February at Legacy.  In the past, the kiddos had to read a book, and then make a game, cereal box or trifold at home.  The students then bring them all to share at school, it tends to be a lot of work for the parents (me).  This year, the staff changed it up a little and made the projects all at school.  It was fabulous!  I had to do nothing but walk around each classroom and see their great projects.  I loved their excitement and how proud they were of themselves of what they made.  They really did an awesome job.

As for Elyse, she is older and hers involved reading a book about a "Hero of Faith" and then having a wax museum presentation.  It was a lot of fun watching her become Corrie ten Boom.

Now that the month and competition are done, I just hope they strive to read as much as they have for the last 29 days!
