Daddy-Daughter Ball

Last Friday was Legacy's Annual "Daddy-Daughter" dance.  I think all elementary girls who attend Legacy anticipates this day from the first day of school.  It's a huge night where both dads and daughters get all dressed up, are encouraged to go out to dinner together, and then spend their time in fellowship and dancing the night away.  Elyse looked beautiful and felt like a princess once again.  Memories that I know will last them both a lifetime.

Snow Tubing

Today we adventured out to a new place to experience the fun of snow tubing.  Needless to say it was nonstop fun.  Ride the tubes down and have the machines pull you and the tubes back up.  The kids left with faces bright red, fingers frozen cold, but smiles and wanting to do more.

Homecoming Week

Legacy's Homecoming week took place this week and I don't know who liked it more, the kids or I.  Throughout the week the kids had theme dress up days and did fun things to celebrate.  Then on Friday they invited the families to participate in the school's pep-fest.  I think Ian actually had the most fun of all the kids chanting and cheering on the relays.

Monday: school sports attire
Tuesday: twins day (only Elyse participated, boys did not want to match one another)
Wednesday: pajama day
Thursday: superhero day
Friday: school pride

Little Different Sunday Night Family Night

We usually eat pizza and watch movies on Sunday night as a family.  Tonight was just a little different.  Same blanket, same spot, same pizza but instead of a movie we cheered on the Vikings for what sadly turned out to not be in our favor, hopefully next year.

Snow Fun

The temps were in high thirties and the snow was melting which resulted in very wet kids; but it was the first time that we could get out and enjoy the snow since it's been so frigid.  With predictions of up to eight inches Monday I'm sure it won't be our only snow fun this year.

Star of the Week

As shared last year with Caleb, most schools have a "Star of the Day" where a child gets to bring in something to share.  Legacy's kindergarten classes do that as well, but they also have a "Star of the Week".  This week happened to be Kallen's and boy was he excited!  We worked together to make his poster look and say all he wanted on it.  He then was able to share it with his class and answer questions they may have had.  Throughout the week he gets special fun privileges like wearing the "Star Hat", sharing his favorite books, getting little prizes and other goodies.

I've said this so many times and will say it many more, Legacy does such an amazing job at making our kids feel so unique, important, special and beautiful children of God.  I truly am thankful they can go there!

A Slow Start to 2018

So I have been asked by a few if we are okay, because there has been a shortage of blog post to start off 2018.  Yes, thankfully we have all been good and healthy.  Unfortunately due to frigid temps we have spent the last few weeks indoors doing nothing too exciting.  The kids had school off today so it was another no homework, staying in our pajamas, coloring, listening to music, playing games, transformers, Lego Ninjago and magnet building kind of day.
