This week MEA is taking place. MEA stands for Minnesota Education Association; three days in October schools are off so teachers can take classes to better their teaching, and high school students can visit colleges. Needless to say, since the kids are off we have three days packed full of fun with lots of play dates and places to go, like parks.

Wearing Her Personality Perfectly
As I was going through our pictures, I came across these of Elyse. As I was looking at the pictures I discovered this girl was wearing a shirt that fit her personality perfectly. Bright and red in color like a fireball full of energy she is, with a heart fancy and beautiful like her. Love her to pieces!

Fire Department's Open House
Yesterday our local Fire Department hosted their annual open house. It was one great event for the kiddos. They were able to go into every firetruck, emergency vehicle, and police car controlled by our city. They also had a live demonstration on car extraction. However, the most exciting surprise was the arrival of the emergency helicopter that flew in and landed in walking distance.

Picking Weeds
My mom, the kids' Nana came up yesterday to spend the day with the kids and give me time to get all their clothes changed/rotated out for the colder weather. I can't thank her enough for her help so that I was able to get that done. Dad (Nate) can't thank her enough for taking the boys out to their rock-pit to have them weed the entire thing. I was beyond surprised to see they did it all, it looks fantastic and now playable again.
Special thanks again Mom/Nana for your help and patience with the boys to get their rock-pit looking great again.

Patches the Dog
For the past week we have had a house pet, Patches. Kallen had the opportunity to take home his preschool's class pet (best kind of class pet too, a stuffed animal). He was beyond thrilled to be the first kid in his class to watch Patches for the week. He took such good care of him! He slept with him every night, constantly played with him, took him everywhere, and knew where he was all the time. I don't know if this shows that he is ready for a real pet; but I do know that he did a great job watching Patches, and that he will be so sad to give him back tomorrow.

Pumpkin Patch
Even though temps didn't feel like fall, we still decided to go to our local pumpkin patch. It has become one of my favorite annual fall activities. I know we just may go back a few more times, but since we had no other plans or in case it starts to become frigid all of a sudden (it is Minnesota) we couldn't pass it up. Kids love it just as much as I do; tractors to sit on, wagons to pull, animals to pet, trucks and dirt to play with, as well as endless pumpkin fun.
