Advent Day 13

Build a Train for Santa

Lowe's put on another "Build and Grow" workshop today so we thought it would be a perfect advent activity for the kiddos.  They got to build their own train for Santa that both rolls and lights up.  They had so much fun doing it, and they turned out super cute.

Advent Day 12

Attend "Holiday Lights in the Park"

The city of St. Paul puts on an annual display of over 75 fun active lights that one admires while sitting in the luxury of their car.  Tonight we all got in the car and decided to see it for ourselves.  The kids were in ah.  They each had their favorites, from the guitar playing dinosaur, Cinderella with her glass slipper, and the jumping gingerbread man.  To top the night off, we each enjoyed the display while eating yummy popcorn.

Advent Day 11

Attend Elyse's Elementary's Christmas Party

Tonight we attended Elyse's school's Christmas party.  We decorated Christmas cookies, did crafts, made reindeer food, and watched Elyse socialize with all her classmates.  The school also gave each child their own Little Critter stuffed-animal and a new book, it was such a fun surprise for the kids.  Another fun-filled night.

Advent Day 9

Attend Family of Christ's Christmas Party

Another family favorite was today's Advent activity.   We attended Caleb's preschool's Christmas party.  We spent our evening doing crafts, decorating and eating cookies, dressing up and the kids' favorite, going to the $1 shop.  They get to pick out gifts for one another for a $1.  I am so proud that they all went to bed tonight without opening their gift or telling each other what they picked out.

Advent Day 8

Celebrate Dad's Birthday

Today the most amazing husband, father and man I know turned 35.  The kids were so pumped this morning when they discovered their advent activity was to make a gift, card and brownies (preferred over cake) for Nate.  Nate wanted to keep his day simple and so that's just what we did.  Lots of love, laughter and hugs were given but the day was simple.

Happy 35th Birthday, Nate!

To Nate: I hope you enjoyed your birthday and it was a memorable one.  I love you so much and everyday thank God for you.  You are such a blessing and God willing I look forward to celebrating the next 35 birthdays (if not more) with you!  Happy Birthday love!

Advent Day 7

Sing and Dance to Christmas Carols

My kids love to sing and dance, and therefore were so excited to do this advent activity.  They may not be the best at it, but I could watch them do it all day.  I love how the boys put their microphones in the back of the chairs to use as a microphone stand...super creative they are.
