With Thanksgiving, arrival of baby boy, Nate and Caleb's birthdays, and Christmas all happening soon, it's been a little chaotic around here trying to get things prepared. Thankfully tonight after dinner I was able to capture the kiddos calmly and lovingly reading together. I quickly snapped a few pictures and then couldn't help myself but sit and read right along with them. It may have lasted only five minutes before one got up, but it was just what I needed for the night.

First Snowfall
Kids woke up this morning to see a few inches of snow on the ground. As you can see from the pictures, it was beautiful, and brought them a lot of excitement and joy.
Oh yeah, Caleb is really confused now why there are no presents and birthday cake for him today.

Little Helpers
Nate recently found a man on Craigslist that was wanting people to come pick apples off his trees for free. Whatever you picked you got. Needless to say, Nate did two hours worth of picking and it shows, we have bucket after bucket full of apples in our garage. We then wash, peel, cute and freeze the apples to use throughout the year in desserts, crepes, muffins, etc. Well we decided to put the kids to use and they really enjoyed themselves for over an hour. They took turns washing the apples, drying them off and then carrying them from the laundry room to the kitchen so they could be peeled. Video is just a glimpse of what our Saturday morning looked like.

Happy Halloween
Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween! Ours was so eventful this year. We began the holiday three weeks ago at an outdoor Halloween pumpkin party put on by our reality company. On Saturday we attended Elyse's school's autumn party with lots of trunk or treating and games. Then we attended our chiropractor's costume event. We carved pumpkins with friends, and ended the holiday tonight by trick or treating in our neighborhood. Overall, it was fully packed with fun and candy.

"My Birthday!"
Since Elyse's birthday, Caleb has asked when it's going to be his birthday. I would have responded with, "A long time little man. We have to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving, Dad's birthday, and hopefully birth of baby brother." But Elyse decided to tell him that it will be his birthday when there's snow.
Sick as it is, snow flurries began to fall today. All of a sudden Caleb comes running and screaming, "Mom, it's snowing, it's my birthday!" :) I could not stop laughing and then had to explain we have a long time before December 16th. Sorry buddy.

Apple Orchard
With kids waking up early from naps and temps in the high 50's we couldn't help but enjoy one of the last nicest days of fall. We headed east to a local apple orchard where we went on a hayride, played in the little house and of course, checked out the store and bought some yummy goodies. I couldn't have enjoyed my Sunday anymore.

Three in One Room
For the past few months Elyse and Caleb have been sleeping in their bunk beds. Last night however, we decided to move Kallen over to their room too. We pretty much brought his crib into their room. I was hesitant at first, but I think calling that bed, "Kallen's bed" for so long, and him helping bring things over made it a breeze. There was not one tear. He happily went to bed. All kids talked for about two minutes and then were out and slept till 7:30 AM. Everything went perfectly, so here's to hoping it's not a one night special.
(Apologize for the pictures, I quickly captured them right after turning the lights on because I knew they all were dying to get out of their beds and begin their day.)
