Rockin' Out

I don't know if I would really consider Elyse and Caleb to be rockin' out, but that's what they think they are doing. Their keyboard and microphone has to be one of their favorite things to play with, especially together. Not the best video, but you get to hear their "beautiful" music that I hear everyday, enjoy :)

And yes, Elyse is wearing her gloves, scarf and hat. She didn't care it was -2 out without windchill, she wanted to go get new books at the library. Therefore, we trucked out in the cold today and honestly, it wasn't too bad. She just decided that she wanted to keep it on as accessories. My own personal, "Fancy Nancy".

Bubble Bath Fun

Playing in Nate and my bath tends to be a rainy day activity in our home. However, with today's temperatures being only in the single digits I did not have the motivation to bundle the kids up to go outside. The sun looks beautiful, but sure is deceiving. Therefore, I asked Elyse if she wanted to play in our tub today as a special treat; she obviously said "Yes" and asked, "Can we have bubbles too, please?" I could not resist the nice manners. Caleb was so excited that instead of signing "more" during lunch (for his second serving like he usually does), he signed "all done" and "bath" over and over again. Needless to say, they had a blast and it sure made an hour fly by today. I know this activity will be a common occurrence now that I let it take place on a sunny day, oh well.

Sesame Street LIVE 2012

I have written this before, and I know I will be writing it again in the future, Nate and I have amazing friends. Friends we consider close as family. One such example are our friends, Kris and Kristi Brown. Well last night, our two kiddos loved them just as much as we do, and that's because, thanks to them we got FREE tickets to Sesame Street LIVE. That's right, Kris' mother's job had lots of tickets they were giving away and since their son, Emmitt is just under three months, they called us to see if we were interested.

As many of you know, Elyse really isn't interested in Elmo anymore, but boy did she have fun! The concert was Elmo plays music. The entire show focused on instruments and songs that the kids knew and could sing along to. She spent much of her time dancing and singing. Even Caleb clapped along to a few songs. Their eyes were drawn to the stage the entire time. Overall, it was a lot of fun and a great family, Friday, fun night!
Kiddos look mad, when in reality they are that focused on the show
Elyse dancing and singing, while Caleb claps his hands to a song
A picture we dedicate to Uncle Shawn & Aunt Amelia, it's Mr. Noodle :)

To Kris and Kristi: Again we thank you for thinking of us and letting us build a new memory with our kiddos. We love you guys so much!

Head Over Heels For Shoes

I remember when a good friend would share with me stories about how her one year old son loved playing with shoes. I just laughed and thought, what boy likes shoes? Well ironically, our son. That's right, if I turn my back I can guarantee to find Caleb downstairs playing in all the shoes. In fact, yesterday he was there for at least five minutes, and today, it probably would have been longer if we didn't have to get out the door so soon. He does not eat them (thank goodness); he just enjoys playing with the zippers or shoelaces and throwing them. I sure do love my silly boy!

Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall,...

...Who is the Fairest One of All?

With lips red as a rose, hair black as ebony, and skin white as snow - her name is, Snow White.

So this post is way overdue. Previously in the Christmas post I wrote about the cutest present Elyse received from her Uncle Steven, Aunt Kim and cousin, Chloe. This is it, isn't is adorable? Elyse loves dressing up as Snow White, only if she has the hair on too :)

Elyse Goes to the Dentist

Today, Elyse checked off another big girl thing on her to do list. She spent her time in the dentist chair. I was given a recommendation to go to Riverdale Pediatric Dentistry in Coon Rapids, and now I am recommending it to all you parents who live in the area. The staff is amazing and the farm theme and decorations is so much fun. There was also individual movie screams above the kids' heads where they get to watch a movie to make time go by fast. Elyse did amazing, which I wasn't too surprised since we have talked about it for the past week, I showed her the website and she knew other friends' who already had it done. Overall, super successful and we will be going back there for sure in 6 months.

Elyse being introduced to her Dental Hygienist and what she would use.

Elyse getting her teeth cleaned, flossed and counted while wearing some real cool protective eye wear and watching a movie.

Elyse did such a good job with the cleaning they asked if she wouldn't mind getting x-rays taken. She rocked those too in her smiley face cover up.
Big smiles on her face as she is all done with NO CAVITIES and is waiting for her bag of goodies. No joke, they spoil the kiddos rotten. She went home with toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste, stickers, toys and cups.

Spoiled

For the last twelve days, Elyse, Caleb and I have been spoiled rotten. The reason is because Nate took some vacation days off and Caterpillar always has shutdown from Christmas Eve to New Years day. Therefore, we have had the joy of having him home and boy has it been wonderful. We got to do our gym workouts in the morning and go play/shop in the afternoons. We did something everyday as a family and I treasured every moment. However, the two days that were mostly devoted to the kiddos' enjoyment were us going to Mall of America and the Children's Museum. We didn't capture a lot of pictures, but I will never forgot this past week. It's not often that Nate's vacation days are spent without extended family (don't get me wrong, we love seeing them) but I do treasure alone time with my three loves more than anything.
