Successful Foods

For the past week, Nate and I have had Elyse try sweet potatoes, carrots and bananas. We filmed it, but nothing exciting happened, plus it was kind of blurry. She hesitates at first, but after a few bites takes it great. In fact, she usually finishes the entire container. Also, I thought she'd love the bananas, but she appears to like them the least of the three. I guess they are just my favorite. Still we were very proud of her for eating her fruit and vegetables.

Full and happy because she just got done eating all her carrots.
After eating she gets a yummy teething cracker while Nate and I eat.

Visit From Aunt Jan

My Aunt Jan from Nebraska decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday here this past weekend hanging out with my mom. They did what all women enjoy doing, shopping, going out to eat, talking and spending time with Elyse. Nate, Elyse and I loved having them here for the day. Elyse loved it the most; because she loves seeing Grams, plus she tends to get spoiled A LOT whenever she comes, and now she had two Grams come. Overall it was a great day! Thanks for coming to visit us Aunt Jan.

More Peas Elyse? No Thanks!

Now that Elyse is 6 months she can start eating flavored baby food. We were told it's better to start with vegetables or babies may not eat them after fruits because fruits are so sweet. So we tried sweet peas (couldn't be that bad it had sweet in the name). Anyway, as you can see from the video, it was not a success. After trying a few bites we soon switched back to cereal. We will continue to try other flavors until she finds one she enjoys.

6 Months Old

My baby girl turns 6 months old today!! I can't believe it, Elyse is half way through her first year. She's growing and developing so fast both physically and mentally. She currently weighs 18 lbs, 2 oz (89%) and is 27 inches long (91%). It's funny how much she's a perfectionist like Nate and I because, she has never got off the weight and height chart lines, she follows them PERFECTLY! (Our doctor was very impressed). She is also constantly rolling all over the house, sitting up on her own, pushes herself up and is beginning to get her knees up in hopes to crawl soon. My favorite things she's been doing is she has started to give Nate and I kisses :) She will begin eating vegetables and fruits this week. Overall, Nate and I can't get enough of her. We love her so much!!!
So, I just wanted to say.....Happy 6 Month Birthday Elyse!!!!

Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack

So as I previously mentioned in the other blog, Elyse's bath duck quacks and she loves it. I think she has grown to love ducks and I believe it started way back in November. Elyse's Uncle Steven and Aunt Kim bought her this duck that plays the chicken dance song. Right away she loved it and now she does her own imitation of the duck while it sings. Nate and I HATE the chicken dance (Steven and Kim knew this too), but we play it anyways because we LOVE watching her get so excited.

Blog post is dedicated to Uncle Steven and Aunt Kim :)

Ahhh, Just Right

So there once was a little princess named Elyse. Elyse loved being in water and taking baths. So one night Elyse found three tubs to sit in so she could enjoy her bath.

Well the first tub Elyse got in was enjoyable, but it was too small. She didn't have much room to move and her legs and feet didn't fit.
So Elyse went to the second tub, she again enjoyed being in the water, but the tub was too big. Plus Elyse didn't enjoy sitting up as much because she couldn't splash and reach her toys very well.
Finally Elyse sat in the third tub she saw, and it was just right. Elyse loved it so much! She could now reach her toys, lay down, sit up and even kick. In fact, Elyse didn't want to get out of the tub at all, she may have to start her baths 15 minutes earlier now so she can make it to bed on time. Oh yeah, Elyse probably also loved the duck so much because when you squeeze the beak, it makes a quacking sound :)
So Elyse lived happily ever after in her pink duck tub.
