Time for Your Checkup

Caleb, Ian and I were nicely playing in the toy-room when I realized Kallen was no where to be found.  Instantly I got up to see where he was at (it usually is not a good thing when I don't see or hear him).  Thankfully today I found him and Doc McStuffins giving Lambie a checkup on the stairs; apparently Lambie fell down them and was hurt.  Love his creativity and imagination!

Wienermobile

One of our neighbor's sons has been traveling the US driving the Oscar Mayer's Wienermobile.  So when he stopped by to visit his parents, we decided to visit him and check out his new ride for the year.

Their Own Tablet

After much consideration, Nate and I decided to purchase a refurnished tablet for the kids as a Christmas gift.  We were hesitant at first, but it has defiantly been worth it.  We have many rules with it, and thankfully the children obey them very well.  Giving them their own has resulted in them leaving our stuff alone.  I put on apps that are only appropriate and educational.  They also are only allowed to use it once a day, right during nap time.  For instance, when I am putting Ian down, Kallen uses it; when putting Kallen down, Caleb uses it; and then Elyse plays with it when putting Caleb down if she is home.  This results in rare fighting and no loud chaos when I am peacefully putting siblings down for naps.  In fact, most of the time I catch the two, or even all three playing really nice together with it, like today.

Other Kalahari Fun

Even though majority of our time at the Kalahari Resort was spent in the water, we did manage to do some other fun things too.  We ate lots of the kids' favorite foods, including ice cream.  We played in the indoor play-area; and during naps, Elyse got some special one-on-one time getting her hair done and shopping.

Kalahari Vacation

Last Monday Nate and I decided to surprise the kids and go to the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells for a few days.  We asked my mom if she was interested in coming along.  She happily agreed and Wednesday afternoon we were off.  The kids were so excited!
