Headed East

Last Saturday, Nate, my mom, the kiddos and I headed east to Michigan to visit my brother, sister-in-law and our adorable niece.  We had such a wonderful time and thanks to Kim and my mom we captured over 1,000 pictures.  Therefore, I will post pictures throughout the next few days because there are so many good ones I want to share.  As for this post, I will keep it simple with some great family pictures.  Enjoy!

Special thank you to Steven, Kim and Chloe for hosting us.
We miss you already and love you lots.

Rolling

Kallen has never really complained about being on his tummy; as you can see from the pictures, he is pretty happy there. Although starting last Wednesday, he will never complain again because he started rolling from tummy to back. He must think it's a game now, because we will put him on his tummy, and instantly he rolls to his back with a super big smile. No more laying him on the table or bed to protect him from his siblings. Life just keeps getting more and more busy :) and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Father's Day Weekend

So I was organizing my June pictures and came across ones we took over Father's Day weekend.  That's when I realized I have not posted our trip to Nate's parents yet.  This is not because I did not want to post a blog or because we did not have a great time; we had such a wonderful time we forgot to take pictures.  In fact, we did not take one picture of the kiddos with their grandparents, so sad.

Thank you Mike and Kathy for hosting us.  We loved seeing you both and look forward to seeing you again soon.  Plus now it has to be soon so we can get a picture with you and the kiddos.

Below are just a few pictures we did capture while in Iowa.  Enjoy!

We spent much of our time at Mike and Kathy's country club's pool since it was in the 90's.

Mike and Nate took Elyse and Caleb fishing.
Elyse caught her first fish.  She was so proud.

Kallen still smiling after being in his carseat for six hours.
He did great for his first long road trip.

Oliver H. Kelley Farm

The kiddos and I trucked out in the 90 degree sun today to join our good friends, at the Oliver H. Kelley Farm in Elk River. It was a very educational experience for all of us. We got to see what life was like in the 1860's. We saw how they grew and cooked their food, what they wore, we ran all over the place with farm animals, and saw how they washed their clothes. Ironically, the children seemed to have the most fun getting water from the well, but who would not enjoy ice cold water today?!? All in all it was a very fun morning and made me really appreciate living in 2012!

Caleb was not so sure about the sheep :)

Even and Shorter

Elyse finally got her first official haircut Saturday.  It was probably harder on me than her, but it was time.  She needed a little shape up to make it even with a little more of a style.  She did great and happy to say the haircut turned out great too.
