New England Road Trip - Day 5

After a slow-paced night, we got up right away and drove to Springfield, MA, where we stopped at the Armory to look at historical war weapons. Dad even found his grandpa’s gun. We quickly grabbed a bite to eat and drove to New Haven, CT. While there, we attended Peabody’s Museum of Natural History and explored Yale University. We ended our night eating at Modern Apizza (famous CT pizza). It was a so-so hit for our family.

New England Road Trip - Day 4

We started our day at Diana’s Bath in New Hampshire, where we hiked and explored the beautiful waterfalls. It was a great way to start the day. We then headed west to Littleton’s Chutters candy store, which has the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest candy counter. We finished our day in Stowe, Vermont, where we went to the Ben & Jerry’s factory and then spent the night relaxing by the pool.

New England Road Trip - Day 3

Today we got up early to spend most of our day at Acadia National Park. It was cloudy, which limited the ocean views but kept the temperatures down too, which was great for hiking. We drove the Cadillac Road to get to the top of the mountain, which was beautiful. We also hiked three hikes with lots of steep rocks to climb. We then jumped in the car for a four-hour drive to North Conway, NH, for a night of swimming in the hotel with the mini waterslides. Great day!

New England Road Trip - Day 2

Today was a fun drive up the Maine coast. We stopped at many little towns; the best ones were: Freeport for L.L. Bean’s outlet and Camden. We ended in Bar Harbor for dinner and more browsing in little shops.

New England Road Trip - Day 1

Today we officially kicked off our summer (road) trip out east. We landed in Boston and headed north right away to Salem. We explored the town and the history of the Salem Witch Trials. Following Salem, we drove to Portland, ME, where we hit up a little shopping and delicious ice cream at The Dairy Corner.
