Island of Adventures

Today we visited the Island of Adventures at Universal, and it did not disappoint. The temps were cooler, which kept the lines shorter. Everyone was able to ride every ride they wanted except for the Hulk ride. We made a full day of it and left with lots of smiles. Some highlights were Kallen meeting Blue, Caleb doing some magic and killing the Dark Magic Knight with his wand, and dad, Elyse, and Maddie doing the Veloceraptor ride.

Southeastern University

Today we visited SEU in Lakeland, Florida. Elyse has been very interested in the school since discovering a program she is interested in and that one of her favorite worship bands, SEU Worship, sings there. She loved the school and has made it a very top contender for college. After the day's emotions, we arrived back at our VRBO to see a beautiful rainbow in the sky. The picture does not do justice, it was vivid of all six colors.

Universal Studios Florida

Today we started our spring break at Universal Studios. The day was eighty and beautiful until about four o'clock, when it just wouldn't stop raining. We had umbrellas, waterproof shoes, and rain jackets, but we still were not dry. We did enjoy a few rides, but headed out before six. It ended up being for the best, as we needed a good night's sleep after getting in at 1:30 AM because our rental van was gone.

Mission Trip

From last Saturday through Wednesday night, Nate, Elyse, Kallen, and I were back down south in Ensenada, Mexico, for our favorite week of the year, serving with Homes of Hope, where we build houses for families in need. The mission is never a disappointment; it’s always filled with joy, meaningful experiences, and it’s never easy to leave. Unfortunately, this year didn’t go entirely as planned for Elyse, as she ended up stuck at the base resting with severe headaches, light sensitivity, fatigue, and generally not feeling well. We’re incredibly grateful for the prayers that helped bring us home safely. It was wonderful to be reunited with the other kids, but we’re already counting down the days until we can go back.

Homecoming

Last night was Legacy’s homecoming. Elyse was thrilled as always. Caleb was hesitant but agreed to go with his friends. Needless to say, the night did not disappoint. The kids looked amazing, had a blast, and even danced together a lot. Bonus: since I was a chaperone, I was able to witness the entire beautiful night take place.
