Day 6: Ho'okipa Beach, Paia, and Iao Valley

Today was a packed day of new sights.  We started by going to Ho'okipa Beach, where we were encouraged not to swim but instead watch professional surfers and wind sailors hit the waves.  The kids got bored fast, so we only stayed for a short time.

Next, we shopped in a little town called Paia.  Super cute town with fun boutiques and souvenirs.

Lastly, we hiked Iao Valley.  This valley was the site of the battle of Kepaniwai, where the forces of Kamehameha conquered the Maui army in 1790.  The highest peak was the specific spot of the fight.  The hike was very minimal and nothing too exciting for the kids, but the history and culture made it worth it.

Day 5: Surfing and Black Rock

Today was a day of firsts.  Dad, Caleb, and Kallen took some surf lessons and hit the waves.  Both Caleb and Kallen were up the first wave and loved it from then on.  It was really fun watching them do so well.

Later that day, we walked over to Black Rock, where sea turtles swim freely. The kids saw one yesterday on the trail, but today, they were the first to swim right along with them. It was such an incredible and memorable experience.

Day 4: Kapalua Trail and Nakalele Blowhole

Today might have been one of the most beautiful sights of our vacation.  We hiked the Kapalua Trail to see turtles and cliff dive.  We then hiked to see Nakalele Blowhole.  It was a little hike but worth it, super cool.

Day 3: Shopping and Beach Day

We spent our day shopping at Wales Village (a block from our condo), riding the town's trolley around, and swimming in the beach/pool.
