Golfing

Dad has recently been going golfing more and yesterday brought the boys along. Caleb and Ian loved playing, while kallen loved being the caddy. Overall, I would call it a success since they came home with summer memberships.

Last Day of School

Today was the kids’ last day of school and ironically my last day of teaching this year.  I really have no idea where this year went, especially the last month! This might be the first time that no one really felt it was time to be done. Needless to say, summer is now here and we will have a lot going on; meaning I know it will fly by faster than the the school year.

Baseball

Today was the ending to a quick and horrible (2-9) season of Kallen playing baseball. A few of his closest buddies were playing so he tried out. He thankfully made their team and enjoyed practices and being with friends, but not really the game. Loved running and stealing bases, and playing third, but hitting involved too much pressure for the enjoyment. We will see if he plays again but for now I’m just thankful he tried it

R.I.P. Grace

Today, we officially said goodbye to Grace.  It was something we didn't really see happening as it did and that made it extra hard as no goodbyes were said before she went.  She passed in the middle of the night so as we all were in a rush for school Tuesday morning (4/25) our smiles quickly turned to tears.  We all have spent the week having ups and downs but for the most part, handling it well.  Today, however, was hard.  We all together cried and got the closure we needed.  Grace is now buried in our backyard so we can still have her close and remember the good.

Grace really was a great first dog for our family!  She was wonderful with all the kids that came and went.  She obeyed well, was fun to travel with, and loved going on walks.  You will forever be missed, Grace!

Hamilton AND Turning 40!

Today, I turned forty, and even though I wasn't too excited about it; the day was so memorable and enjoyable, and if it's a glimpse of forty then it will be amazing!  Dad, my mom, and the kids did such a great job making me feel loved.  They showered me with hugs, kisses, and gifts.  The best part of the day though was Dad took the kids and me to see Hamilton at the Orpheum, fifth row.  It was by far one of my favorite musicals I have ever seen.  Plus having the kids enjoy it too brought me extra joy.

Legacy's Art Show

Yesterday kicked off Legacy's first Art Show.  It's something that I know will continue because it's such a great way to represent all the artistic talent throughout the school.  There are rows of art displayed in the commons area for the community to look at.  Well, last night was the kickoff and it began with a reward ceremony judged by the administration team.  Both Ian and Maddie took home one of the first, second, or third-place ribbons.  So proud of them!

Pizza Ranch Employee

Another blessing of going to Legacy is that they work alongside our local Pizza Ranch, which is one main reason we attend the restaurant so much.  Anyway, every year Legacy's sixth graders get the opportunity to spend their school day working at the restaurant doing all sorts of jobs to get first-hand experience.  The students do a wonderful job.  Today, was Caleb's class's turn.  Caleb was responsible for making pizzas, and he made Dad's specialty pizza with lots of toppings and seasonings, done to perfection!  Super fun lunch today for sure.
