Vocal Recital

Tonight was Elyse's vocal recital.  Thankfully this year we suggested to her teacher to have it at Constance Church so the recital would have a better sound system, lighting, and air conditioning.  So glad she took us up on it because it was wonderful!  The entire thing was way more enjoyable and easier to hear.  Plus Elyse did a fabulous job.  She sang, "Notice Me, Horton" from "Seussical".  (Reason for the pink tail 😁)

Klauser Family Visits

Starting Sunday to today we had the honor of hosting the California Klausers.  We just love when they come to visit!  We didn't capture many pictures, proving we had such a great time we didn't stop to capture it.  We did spend our time playing many outdoor games, swimming, baking, card game playing, and laughing.  We also spent a few hours separated by gender so boys could go mini-golfing and bowling, while the girls went shopping and got drinks at Starbucks.  Overall, the visit was short, but the memories will last forever.  Love them all and hope to see them again soon.

Summer Bucket List

A few weeks back, friends of ours suggested in order to keep summer fun and interesting, make a bucket list.  Therefore, whenever we have nothing to do or the kiddos are complaining, we will do something to check it off the list.  We came up with a list a few days later and began checking things off today, four to be exact.  Thanks to Grand Slam, we played in an arcade, did Laser Tag, and went mini-golfing.  We also celebrated with rootbeer floats for dessert. 😀

Last Day of School

Today sadly ended another year of school.  The majority of the kiddos were actually really bummed to be done, which is another reason we LOVE Legacy!  So blessed and thankful for this year and Legacy!

The last day of 7th grade for Elyse, 5th for Caleb, 4th for Kallen (Mrs. Niessen), 2nd for Ian (Mrs. McBroom), and 1st for Maddie (Mrs. Gurewitz).

Kallen's 4th Grade Graduation

Kallen officially graduated from the 4th grade this morning.  At Legacy, 4th grade is the end of their elementary school age.  He is off to 5th grade in the fall which is considered middle school.  The graduation was beautiful as it always has been.  As before, it took place during Legacy's elementary weekly chapel.  The ceremony involved the kids walking in with the graduation march, they led everyone else in worship, we listened to Mr. Nydam's message, watched the picture slideshow, and ended with them receiving their diplomas.  After the ceremony, we continued the celebration in the gym with desserts, fellowship, and laughter.  Way to go, Kallen, we are so proud of you buddy!  We love you always.

Congratulations Kallen on graduating from the 4th grade!

Track and Field

Today was Track and Field day.  That means dad and I once again spent the day cheering on all the track and field events.  It was Kallen's last time, so it was a little bittersweet in that perspective.  Overall, the day was great!  The weather was beautiful, a bunch of fellowship time, lots of laughter, and the kiddos each came home with at least one ribbon of 1st or 2nd place.  So proud of them!

Chicksitting

For the past few weeks, one of Legacy's first-grade classes got a grant for an incubator to grow chickens.  Well, two successfully hatched this past week at school and the teacher knows how much my kiddos love these chickens so she asked us to chick-sit them this weekend.  The kiddos were thrilled and since they are so small and not a lot of work, we gave the okay.  My only concern is how attached the kiddos are getting to the chickens, I really don't want pet chickens, ha!

The class also has not named the chickens, so the Klausers have decided on two great names, "Nugget" and "Drumstick". 😄
