Watch "A Charlie Brown's Christmas" in the Van
Today's activity was an annual one, with a twist. Caleb had a basketball game tonight about 30 minutes away, so we weren't going to have time to do an Advent before we left or after we got home. So we took it on the road with us. The kiddos got to watch one of our favorites, "A Charlie Brown's Christmas", while Dad and I listened right along.
Watch "A Chosen Christmas"
Our family's favorite series right now is, "The Chosen". It's a series based on the life of Jesus and his twelve disciples. It is so well written and enjoyable. Therefore, when we discovered the birth of Jesus was going to be played at the movies by the same actors/director we couldn't miss the opportunity. The video was really well done, plus the hour of worship artists praising God in song and words was just as enjoyable.
Donate Food to Local Food Shelf with the Help From Local Fire Department
Every year our local fire department decks out the fire trucks and delivers candy canes to kids while collecting food for the local food shelf. The kids don't wait for the fire truck to arrive at our house, instead, they think it's more enjoyable to go find the fire trucks in the other neighborhoods. This year we actually successfully found both trucks and two different locations.
While in Iowa this last weekend, I was blessed to see my long-time and best friend, Joni. This time was extra special as Joni had the fun idea of bringing the daughters along to do a mother-daughter outing. It was a memory that I will cherish forever.
