Deep Portage

The past few days, Elyse and I joined the rest of her class, teachers, and parents up north at a camp called, "Deep Portage".  The weather was horrible, 45 mph winds, nonstop rain and temps in 30's but the kids were champs.  They didn't complain and keep going non-stop during the day and unfortunately all night too.  They learned lots about nature and preserving it, like building fires, shelters, working as a team, rock climbing, getting lost in the middle of the woods, archery and other games.  I loved spending this time with her, but so thankful to be home!

More Pumpkin Patch Fun

Today we joined our friends, the Jackson family at a local pumpkin patch called, Dehns Pumpkins.  We spent our time successfully going through a large corn maze, jumping in inflatables, playing in an enormous corn pit, launching gords, and going on a hayride.  Again the weather, company, and activities made it for a perfect autumn day!

MEA = Fun Day

Today kicked off MEA (Minnesota Education Association), it happens every year in October where teachers have educational meetings, high schoolers visit colleges, and everyone else gets two extra days off.  Well, we could not have asked for a more perfect MEA when it comes to weather, 50-60s and sun, love it!  We had a few options of things to do today but decided to ditch them all and go spend the day with Nana.  The kids love visiting her and were thrilled when I suggested it.  We went out to eat and then spent our time at a local pumpkin farm by her.  Kids got to jump in inflatables, go through a maze, play in a corn pit, and pick out pumpkins.

Girls Day Out

Today I got to have a fun little outing with just the girls.  We went shopping, talked, and got some yummy Caribou treats.  Hope to have more days like today soon!
