Attend "Morning in Bethlehem" at Constance Free Church and Celebrate Dad's Birthday

Today the kids got to do two fun Advent activities.  The morning started with us attending our church's annual Christmas family celebration.  The kids love going to this where they see Nativity animals, do crafts, eat yummy treats and hang out with friends.  I have noticed the older they are getting the less interested they are in having mom and dad around.

Then later we had some family friends over where we celebrated Dad turning 39.  We opened presents, ate cake and enjoyed each other's company.  Although I know that his highlight had to be receiving that giant teddy bear from his great friend, Sean!  

Advent Day 7

Open a New Christmas Ornament and Get a Candy Cane from Local Firefighters 

Love this activity, and the excitement on each kids' faces as they open their new ornament.

One of the kids' long life memory will probably be this simple tradition of seeing our local fire department decorate the fire trucks, blow the horns and hand out candy canes to the kids. We sometimes are able to see it and sometimes can't due to bedtimes or other plans. Tonight we were able to catch them on our way home from a church event and the kids were so excited.
