Elyse Turns 10 Years Old

Today Elyse hit double digits, 10!  I can't get over how scary that is to know our little girl is never going to have a birthday consisting of just one number again.  She is growing up way too fast and I hate everything about that fact.  Love her to pieces and pray year 10 brings as much joy, love and hope as the last nine years have brought.  Elyse continues to love anything to do with singing, dancing, being around friends or family, swimming, and God.

Happy 10th Birthday, Elyse!

Elyse celebrated turning 10 with 24 hours of celebrating.  It started with some of her closest friends coming over after school yesterday for a sleepover party.  The girls painted nails, ate pizza/cake, opened presents (including a karaoke machine), had a singing competition, and ended the night watching "Newsies" on the big screen :)  Thankfully they all slept pretty good and were fabulous!  Then today she got to participate in the Mane Event at school, celebrated with Nana, opened more presents, ate more cake, and then ended her day by going out to eat.  If 10 is as good as her birthday celebration was than I think it's going to be a great year!

Happy Birthday, Nana!

Today Nana turned another year wiser, so we went down to surprise her and celebrate her. It was a quick visit but we still had fun eating cake, opening presents, and spending quality time with Nana. Happy Birthday, Nana, we love you and hope you had a good day!

First Day of Preschool

Ian was really disappointed yesterday that he didn't start school with the rest of the kiddos, but today was his day and he was so excited!  He climbed out of bed right away, got dressed and ran to me saying, "I'm ready for school!"  He is so excited to be a Legacy Lion this year.  It was a little emotional for me after dropping him off for the entire day with the kiddos; but he did great and is already asking if he can go back tomorrow instead of waiting till Thursday.  :)

First Day of School

Today Elyse started 4th grade, Caleb started 2nd, and Kallen started 1st.  They were all super excited to see friends and familiar faces, a little nervous about new teachers but thankfully they know them well. Once again an amazing first day of school welcome with the orange carpet, high fives, lots of loud music and fun; Legacy never disappoints!  I know it's going to be a great year! 

 

Papa and Nana Visit

For the past few day we have had the privilege of hanging out with Papa and Nana Speckman.   Papa and Nana decided to come up for a few days and the kiddos were counting down hours till they arrived.  Our time went by so fast but we were able to create some amazing, fun and long lasting memories.  Even though we spent much of our time at home playing games, hitting golf balls, and catching up; we were able to get out and enjoy some parks, bowling and shopping.

Special thank you to Papa and Nana for coming and visiting.  We loved having you and look forward to doing it again hopefully soon!

Big Cast Off

Today was a big day for Kallan, his hard, large cast came off to a soft, short cast. He is one happy boy.

Breakfast Treat

When mom asks you to get up early to go to an appointment and do not complain, than you get rewarded with a yummy McDonald's breakfast.
