Advent Day 13

Christmas Scavenger Hunt

This Advent activity was new and quickly put together.  The kiddos love to do scavenger hunts around the house to solve riddles to find some little treat.  Since we have had such competition lately I thought an activity they have to work together on would be most helpful right now.  Well they successfully did it; they worked together, solved the riddles and each found Christmas wrapped chocolate treats.

Advent Day 12

Open New Christmas Ornament

This Advent activity is one of my favorites.  Every year I get to pick out (or make as in this year) a Christmas ornament that I think represents something about each kid.  The kids were so excited about the activity this morning they quickly ate their breakfast and got ready for school in time to open them before 7:20 when we left.  By the expressions on their faces, I think they were a hit this year.  They each told me it was one of their top favorite ornaments if not their favorite.

Advent Day 11

Watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas"

Our activity today was an oldie but goody!  Love watching Christmas movies cuddled in blankets in our pajamas.

Advent Day 10

Cut, Bake, Decorate and Eat Christmas Cookies

Today we used our Christmas cookie cutters for their intended purpose, to make some cute cookies.  The kids had fun choosing their favorite cutters and cutting them out, but they enjoyed the decorating and eating part way more (and who wouldn't?!?)  It was over two hours well spent in our home today with Christmas lights on and music playing.  Love this time of the year.

Advent Day 8

Celebrate Dad's Birthday

Today was no surprise to the kids on our activity but they were still super excited to do it.  Today we celebrated Dad.  After school the kids each bought Dad one gift, made personal detailed birthday cards, and baked him his favorite cake, chocolate brownies.  Once he was home they jumped out and surprised him with nonstop smiles.  He quickly opened up his baklava, fun socks, car freshener (Elyse), flashlight (Caleb), pocket knife (Kallen), and water bottle (Ian).  After gifts we ate Dad's choice of dinner and ended it with those delicious brownies.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD!
We love you and so grateful for you.  You are the best husband and Dad, we hope you had a wonderful birthday.  Hugs!
