I have said it before and know I will say it again, I LOVE the kiddos school and teachers. Elyse's teacher, Mrs. McBroom is amazing and we are beyond grateful for her. Unfortunately she is due with her first baby boy any day and will be going on maternity leave until next fall, we will deeply miss her. Therefore, the students and parents threw her a surprise baby shower this morning right when school began. Each kid bought her a new baby book (it's incredible that there was not one duplicate), gave her some baby gifts and ate baby donuts to celebrate. Elyse has been looking forward to this day for weeks now, plus it was Legacy's "Comfy Reading Friday", so kids got to bring a pillow, blanket and stuffed animal, and wear pjs to school.
(If curious, Elyse gave, "Little Blue Truck" as her book 😊)

MOA Friend Fun Day
So our great friends asked us this morning if we wanted to join them for a fun day at MOA. We obviously dropped everything we were doing and joined them. The kids rode rides, played at the Children's Museum and ate yummy mall food. Love days like these...family, friends and lots of fun!

Wrestling Dad
Since Dad works a lot throughout the week; the kids were so excited to have him home today! They spent much of their afternoon with Dad either playing games, hide-n-seek, freeze-tag or wrestling one another.

Buddy Bear
Kallen was beyond thrilled last Wednesday when he was the student chosen to take care of his class' special friend, Buddy Bear. We've had Buddy Bear for the past few years thanks to Elyse and Caleb so Kallen was excited for his turn to take him everywhere and sleep with him every night. Kallen took amazingly good care of him and never forgot to grab him when we did things. Sadly Buddy Bear will have to be returned to preschool tomorrow, I'm sure Kallen will be sad but thankfully I don't think there will be any tears.

Glimpse of Spring
When temperatures are in the 40's with sun in Minnesota it feels like spring. We know we are far away from spring but couldn't help but spend our day outside today.

Flashback to the 80's
This week at the kids' school is "Spirit Week". Unfortunately they either have been home due to pink eye or have not had apparel to go with the themes. Thankfully today was decades day and they both were able to participate. They decided to dress as the 80's similar to Madonna and Marty from Back to the Future.

T-shirts in January?!
After church on Sundays the kids usually get to wear anything they want because we relax at home for the day. Well it feels like -15 outside but they still insisted on wearing t-shirts. They came down matching, and I don't oppose to their choice of clothing... Go Iowa State!
