Dual Sleepover

Some of our good friends were in need of a babysitter for 24 hours; so when they asked we quickly said, "Yes, of course!"  The kids were so thrilled to have their friends sleepover and hang out all day together.  It was also the boys' first sleepover, which was another bonus.  So thankful for their friendship and letting us help them and love their children.

Not Complaining

I by no means will ever complain of our weather this week.  We have and are suppose to remain in the 60's all week; therefore, we are outside every moment possible.  Is it really November?!
(Too busy to stop and take a picture for me)
 (They adore one another!)

Happy Halloween

Due to welcoming home Grace, Halloween landing on a Monday night and other craziness lately we kept Halloween very low key this year, and the kiddos didn't seem to mind one bit.  They picked out their costumes from either a friend's collection or from their dress-up clothes in the toy room.  So Sleeping Beauty/Aurora, Spiderman, Ironman and Fireman Sam got on their rain gear thanks to the annoying mist, grabbed their pumpkins and at record speed hit our neighborhood to successfully fill their pumpkins full.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Introducing "Grace"

We would like you all to meet the newest addition to our Klauser family, "Grace".  Grace is a mutt that has officially joined our family and the kids couldn't be happier.  She is a sweet, stubborn and timid girl.  We are all adjusting great to our new lifestyle change and have nothing but smiles when she's around.

The Story of How We Got Grace
It all began the day we had those sweet kitties stay with us for a few days.  They were returned to their rightful owners and the kids were so sad!  They realized they wanted a pet, and Dad (Nate) and I realized maybe it was time.  Therefore, last month while down in Keokuk visiting Grandpa and Grandma we adventured over to the Keokuk's Animal Services and the owner, Mr. Tom so nicely showed us all his cats and dogs.  The kids quickly bypassed the cats and walked into the dog area.  They saw Grace and ran right up to her.  She played well with them in the backyard and then there was lots of tears when we had to say goodbye.  We left the next day and discussed it over the ride home and decided to tell Grandpa to go ahead with the adoption.  He then kept Grace at the clinic to give her the correct care she needed.  However, Grandma even outdid that by daily playing with her, introducing her to her dogs, Darla and Pettie and teaching her some commands.  They then so kindly drove her up here this past Thursday and helped us get her adjusted to her new home.  I know she loves them very much and probably will be just as excited to see them as we are the next time they visit.

A special thank you to Grandpa and Grandma Klauser!  We are beyond grateful for all you've done for us this past month.  Love you both lots.  BIG HUGS!

Grandparent's Day

Yesterday at Elyse and Caleb's school was "Grandparent's Day".  The kids were beyond thrilled when they found out two out of their three sets of grandparents could make it.  The day involved a small brunch for the grandparents, kids singing a few songs, and then an open house format to tour the school, go to the book fair, play on the playground and the obvious, meet their teachers and see their classrooms.  The kids told me that night they both had a wonderful time and are excited to do it again next year.

Special thanks to Grandpa, Grandma and Nana for taking the day off and spending their time up with the kiddos at school.  We are all grateful and love you dearly.

Caleb's Loose Tooth

A few months ago, Kallen hit Caleb hard enough that it loosened his bottom front tooth.  Once loose, Caleb began wiggling it on a daily basis.  It was hanging by a thread today so Dad asked him to see it, quickly gave it a tiny pull and out it came.  He was so excited.

Eveland Farms

Today I was able to join Kallen and his preschool class on their annual field trip to the Eveland Farms.  Due to uncontrollable circumstances I was unable to experience this with the other two in the past and felt that burden while there but happy to share in the memories this morning with Kallen.  We rode the school bus, went on a hayride, petted some awesome farm animals, and picked out another family pumpkin.  It was chilly but overall a pretty perfect morning.
