Paci Free

So today we hit a huge milestone in the Klauser home, we are forever "paci free".  Ian was attached to his pacis more than the other three combined.  Dad (Nate) and I have been preparing him for weeks that it was time to loose it.  We had tried many things to make him hand it over and nothing worked; until a good buddy of his received a balloon at church from a family friend for being "paci free".  We told him he could get one too if he slept without his.  He really wanted that balloon, but I'm not going to lie, last night was not pretty.  Dad pretty much laid on top of him until he fell asleep.  Ian also woke up almost two hours early but was proud and smiles all day.  We rejoiced with him and took him to pick out his balloon.  He did have a few whinny, "I want you, Mom" during nap-time today and bedtime tonight but successfully fell asleep on his own paci free!

My two favorite things about this whole event is that first, he was so proud of himself and the kids were for him too.  Secondly, every kid thanked God for helping Ian be strong to get rid of his pacis during bedtime prayer tonight.

Fun Friday

With heat indexes around 115 degrees, we spent much of our day doing fun things to keep us cool.  We met some friends at a local wading pool to swim and then hit up one of our favorite places, "Sweet Toppings" for some frozen yogurt.  Fantastic, fun Friday!

Cowboy?!

This morning Kallen comes into the kitchen and says, "Look Mom, I'm a cowboy."  He looks like no cowboy I have ever seen, but who am I to judge? :)

Cow Appreciation Day

Today is Chick fil-A's annual "Cow Appreciation Day".  That means you dress up like a cow and your entire entree or kid's meal is FREE.  Our dearest friends have done this for years since they are from the south.  They asked us to participate with them this year and so glad we did.  The kids had a blast!  They were given their own kid's meal, a book and toy cow.  They also got to hang out with the Chick fil-A cow and one another.  No doubt about it, this is going to be an annual thing!

Andover's Family Fun Fest

This past weekend was our neighboring city's, annual "Family Fun Fest".  The event involved inflatables, food, exhibits and a parade.  We once again participated in the parade for our chiropractor, Dr. Tony and others from Essentials of Life Chiropractic.  This year was extra fun in the fact we were number 2 and therefore were able to see the parade once we walked it.  Nothing but family fun indeed!

Papa John's Crane

Aunt Kim's dad, Papa John gave Kallen the best memory from our trip by far.  He owns a construction company and has many construction toys.  Well he just happened to be playing with his crane while we were swimming.  Kallen and Ian quickly stopped swimming and watched everything he was doing.  He then invited them down so they could take a ride up in it.  They weren't one bit scared but excited.  Although if that wasn't cool enough, Papa John actually let Kallen drive the crane and move it up and down and around in circles on his own.  Nonstop smiles!

A special thanks to Papa John for making one little four year old so happy!

Fireworks

While at Uncle Steven and Aunt Kim's the kids all experienced their first sight and sounds of fireworks.  Nana bought a kit that we set off after dinner.  The kids really enjoyed them but they were beyond thrilled to know that we were letting them stay up super late to experience the real thing.  I don't know what they actually thought was more fun the fireworks or catching the fireflies before it started.  Overall, it made for a great family memory.

Funny story though, about five minutes into it Kallen told me he was done, tired and wanted to leave.  I had him sit on my lap and within seconds the boy feel fast asleep, Haha!

Happy Belated Fourth of July!
