McKinley Olympics

Today Elyse's entire school spent their day outside in the cold (40 and rain) to participate in their annual school's track and field.  I was so shocked they did not reschedule the day but due to volunteers and other rental equipment they really had no choice.  The boys and I adventured out to watch her compete in a few events this morning.  She did great and had smiles the entire time.  Grandpa and Grandma also came up in the afternoon to make it to see her get her award certificate from the day.  Great job, Elyse!

Class Field Trip

Today I had the privilege to join Caleb and his class on their spring field trip to the Wargo Nature Center.  Even though the temps were cool, everything was wet and we have been there a few times, it was still a lot of fun and we made the best of our time.  Caleb informed me the bus ride was his favorite part.  If he was to have asked me I would have said, "Spending the morning with just you, Caleb."

No More Crib

We have successfully hit one week of Ian sleeping in a toddler bed and not in the crib.  He tried it once before but wanted to go back to the crib.  This time we put the toddler bed in the same spot with the exact same mattress and it worked like a charm.  He LOVES his bed now, especially being able to get out after approved by us.  It's so bittersweet, that crib has been used for almost eight years and is officially going to never be used in this home again.  Even though the crib is gone and he wants to do big things, he will always be my baby boy.

Mother's Day

My heart is so full today!  I am beyond thankful for these four that give me the privilege of being their Mom!   Some days are easier than others but there is no other job in the world I would rather be doing.  I love them more than words can ever express.  Thanks be to God for trusting me to raise His children.

Today was a perfect day!  The day began with the kids (and Dad) spoiling me with perfect gifts, hugs, kisses and some awesome behavior.  Then my mom came up so I could also celebrate her which was extra special.  The day ended with playing at a park, eating on the deck and lots of laughter.

A Happy Mother's Day it was indeed.  I hope all you other moms had a very Happy Mother's Day!

Hungry Boy

This morning when Elyse and I were changing out her bed-sheet I heard some crazy sounds coming from the kitchen.  I thought Ian was nicely playing with the boys in the toy room when in fact Mr. Hungry climbed up onto the counter, got oatmeal for Elyse, Caleb and Kallen and then poured himself his own bowl of cereal.  The best part about it is that he did not even make a mess.

T-Ball

Caleb started T-ball last week and tonight they played in their first game.  He is on the Blue Claws team.  He LOVES attending both the practices and games.   The league is pretty much basic skill teaching and everyone wins, but it's a good place to start.  Overall, he did a great job tonight and I can't wait to see how he improves throughout the next few months.

Warm Temps

Last week was nothing but cold and rain, so today I am thankful for sun and warmer temps we are having this week!
