Visiting Speckman Family

We spent this past 4th of July holiday weekend in Michigan with my brother and his family.  We took off on Thursday, but did not want to make the 11 hour car-ride through the night so we stopped just shy of halfway to have a sleepover in a hotel (first time for the three boys).  I don't know what they loved more, sleeping in one room or having the continental breakfast of whatever they wanted :)

Well after arriving midday Friday we spent the rest of our time playing, swimming at Kim's parent's house, lighting off fireworks and relaxing.  It really was a wonderful trip and we were all wishing we could have stayed just a little longer.

Special thanks to Steven, Kim, Chloe and Silas for hosting us.  We love you lots and miss you already.

Library Fun

Love how much my kids love going to the library and looking at books. I hope their passion for books never dies.

Ian's 6 Month Stats

Just as I predicted, Ian's 6 month doctor appointment went great.  He is right on track for his current stages of development,  but physically still too small. He by far passed the happy baby test :)

6 MONTH STATS
Weight: 14 lbs. 4 oz (2%)
Length: 26.25 inches (20%)

That's No Slip and 'Slide

Last Sunday: we put up our Buzz "Slip and Slide" and the kids enjoyed themselves a lot, including Nate.

Today: Nate decided the Buzz one was not good enough; so he went out and purchased a tarp, connected our sprinklers and made an amazing slip and slide the kids couldn't get enough of.  An amazing husband, dad, engineer and big kid.

TGIF

Kids lounging around after dinner saying, "TGIF".  I couldn't agree more.

Exercising at Home

Whenever we have plans in the evening, kids nap extra long and/or Nate has to work late, we don't go to the gym but workout at home instead.  Well today happened to be one of those days and for the first time ever, Kallen decided to join us.  He was constantly imitating Nate even down to the painful grunts.  Simply way too cute.

Healthy Living Race

Today we spent our morning cheering on friends and others at the Healthy Living Race put on by our awesome Chiropractic family at Essential Life Chiropractic (www.elcmn.com). Due to either pregnancy or infancy, Nate and I have not been able to run it the last three years, but still go to support others; plus there's so many fun activities for the kiddos.  They got to hang out with friends, jump in inflatables, eat samples, face painting and sit in a firetruck.  A perfect and fun Saturday family morning.
