Advent Day 8

Celebrate Nate's/Dada's Birthday

The kids spent their event today celebrating Nate turning one year older.  Nate and I keep our birthdays pretty simple but usually very enjoyable.  The day involved treating him to his favorite coffee drink, attending church, each kid giving him their homemade birthday card, and having dinner and social with our small group.

Nate, I hope you had a wonderful birthday.  I love you so much and can't wait to continue celebrating you for many more years to come.  Happy Birthday, Love!

Advent Day 7

"Morning in Bethlehem" at Constance Free Church

Today's advent activity is one I had been looking forward to since making the Advent Calendar!  Our church put on an amazing event to celebrate the birth of Christ for young children.  There was a live nativity set with a donkey, sheep, goats, calf, llama, bunnies, ducks and chickens. Kids also got to do some fun art projects, dress up as angels, as well as decorate and eat birthday cake for Jesus.  The kids loved everything and we all look forward to hopefully doing it again next year.

Advent Day 4

Snowball Fight (With Cotton Balls)

Ironically we got hit with at least six inches of snow today and could have easily had a real snowball fight.  However, due to traffic delaying Nate's homecoming for the day, having to snow blow the driveway, school, church and me not having snow pants that fit, we had to postpone doing the real thing.  Needless to say, our cotton ball snowball fight was not a disappointment, over thirty minutes of fun for us all!
