Talia

Starting Sunday we had the privilege of hosting my eleven year old (step)niece, Talia.  Many people thought it would be a lot more work and chaos, but it was great.  We spent our days doing normal activities and she fit right in perfectly.  In fact, the kids adapted to her being here as if she always lived here.  We know she will be back and we are thankful for that as we loved having her!

Marshmallow Creations

I knew once I saw a friend's daughter doing this I had to let the kiddos try it.  It's so easy and fun for kids.  Just use marshmallows and toothpicks to build towers, animals, people, jewelry, cars, etc.  The best part about it, you can eat the creations when you are all done playing. :)

"Hello"

For a the past few weeks Kallen has been showing us his phone skills.  Randomly one day Nate held the pretend phone up to his ear and said, "Hello", gave the phone to Kallen and he did it right back.  I finally got my act together and captured it.   I just adore it when little ones begin doing big people things.

Eagle's Nest

I have previously posted on how we've spent our time at in indoor playground near our house.  Well on Saturday we adventured out a little farther from home to check out Eagle's Nest in New Brighton, MN.  Eagle's Nest had to be almost double the size of the one we usually attend.  The kids loved it!  Elyse spent her time running around like crazy, Caleb successfully did the 3-12 year old one by himself and cried when we left, and Kallen, he was in busy boy heaven.  Besides the chaos from 4:00-5:00 PM, it was really fun and an enjoyable family outing.

"All Done"

If you ask a mom what are baby's major milestones, she would probably respond with, first tooth, their first time smiling, laughing, crawling, and walking.  I too consider those major milestones, but one not on all moms' list and my favorites is, their first time signing.  Starting last week Kallen finally began signing, "All Done".  This is the first step to him being able to sign lots of words, communicate with us and hopefully reduce the many tantrums a toddler has.  As you will see in the video, he not only signs it, he says it too; such a smart little boy.  Love him and I am so proud!

Jacuzzi Fun

Today the kiddos asked if they could go play in what they consider to be a hot tub (what actually is a Jacuzzi tub).  Since Kallen was still napping and I didn't have motivation to get out, I quickly said, "Sure, why not?!?"  Fill the tub full, turn the bubbles on, and instantly an hour flies by and I have happy kids.
