Happy Halloween

I want to start off by wishing you all a Happy Halloween!  I hope your Halloween was memorable, enjoyable and a little spooky.  Ours was really nice and low key this year.  We had a family Halloween party at Elyse's school last Saturday, a simple Halloween social with our friends on Sunday, and we ended the holiday with some great trick-or-treating tonight.  We bundled ourselves up and hit some of our local neighbors.  Going to just one cul-de-sac and a few homes gave our kids enough candy for months :)

Make a Bear

My Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jan gave Elyse a "Make a Bear" box set for her birthday.  Well since yesterday was such a cold and snowy (yes, snowy) Thursday, I thought it was a perfect time to bring out the box and let the kids have some fun.  Well that's just what they did.  Elyse let Caleb have the brown one, and they both enjoyed stuffing their bear until they were just right.

The set also came with princess dresses to dress up your bear, that was by far Elyse's favorite part.  She spent much of her day changing her bear's clothes.  While Caleb spent much of his day taking his bear for car rides.

Special thanks to Uncle Bobby and Aunt Jan for this great gift!

Busier

As I stated in Kallen's 7 month post, he is scooting all over the place.  Nate captured just a short video of our little man on the move to give you a glimpse of how our life just got a little busier.  The boy is like all infants who begin scooting, he is getting into everything.  On the positive side though, his naps have been awesome since he has been wearing himself out while awake :)

Why Toys?

I know there is no way I am the only parent that ever asks this question, "Why do we bother buying nice toys when a box seems to bring a child so much more entertainment and fun?" :)

Kallen Turns 7 Months

Here I am again, blogging another birthday month for Kallen.  Seriously, didn't I just do this last week?!?  I am so sad to see that another month has come and gone.  He is growing up way too fast; plus he is determined to be do what Elyse and Caleb are doing and be right where they are all the time.   A few things about him right now: he enjoys sitting, but loves laying on stomach.  He is scooting all over the house (starting to get knees up too), still toothless, loves baby food, loves being read to (Peek-a-Who is by far his favorite book), smiles all the time and enjoys singing (screaming) right along with Elyse and Caleb in the car.

To Kallen: Hope you have a Happy 7 Month Birthday!  We love you so much and love celebrating you.

A Big Brother

-reads to his little brother
-teaches his little brother how to play basketball
-shares his cars and trucks

When it comes to being a big brother, Caleb is top dog.  Besides the stuff above, Caleb constantly brings Kallen his toys, gives him lots of kisses and is always on guard to where he is.  I love how much he loves him; and I look forward to seeing their relationship even get closer as they grow up together.

Mornings

If we are not rushing out to make it to church or drop Elyse off at preschool, our mornings before Kallen's nap are very low key.  We spend much of our time playing, laughing and reading books.  It tends to go by super fast and I treasure the time every morning.  Most of the time it tends to be the most relaxing and enjoyable part of my day.  Hope your mornings are just as special as ours.
